Ein Dokumentarfilm über ein Paar (beide Filmemacher), die ihren Sommer in Frankreich damit verbringen, auf Fahrrädern den Aufzeichnungen aus dem Tagebuch des polnischen Schriftstellers Andrzej Bobkowski zu folgen, der diese Reise 1940 – inmitten des 2. Weltkriegs – unternommen hat. Sie filmen vorerst ihre Recherche, doch das ganze Vorhaben endet mit der Infragestellung ihrer Beziehung. Das Leben könnte so schön sein, wären da nicht diverse Ängste, falsche Erwartungen und Frustrationen. Ein humorvoll erzählter Road Trip über ein Paar, das sich selbst auf der Spur ist.

For its free-flowing, unpredictable style, which subverts the conventional narrative of a masculine adventure, and for its wry, open-ended enquiry into the nature of historical trauma and memory.”
